Except “virtual reality” is no longer quite accurate. Or rather, in it, sending a message to myself via VR WhatsApp. I'm writing this on the Quest 3, Meta's latest virtual reality headset. Specifically, typing on an ethereal keyboard that's floating right in front of me, hovering atop my actual real-world office desk. This feels new, different … exciting even.
